This newly constructed resort has quickly become one of the most sought after fishing destinations in the world today. It is easy to see why, boasting a multi-million dollar 200 slip marina, signature 18-hole golf course, elegantly decorated homes and condominiums, casino, 4-star Marriott Hotel, etc.
Fish thrive in the calm and clear waters just outside Herradura Bay. This year round fishery peaks between December and May, when dozens of shots at sailfish and marlin are the norm rather than the exception. You can expect to raise 12-15 sails, and perhaps a marlin or two at this time. This area gives you grand slam billfish possibilities since blue, black and striped marlin frequent these waters in addition to the sails. Dorado, yellowfin tuna, and wahoo help round out your catch while fishing offshore. Roosterfish is the king of inshore fishing, but the mighty cubera snapper, and record sized snook will also keep you coming back for more.
The resort offers unparalleled fishing opportunities. Not only does it harbor the finest fishing fleet in Central America, but due to its geographic location (central Costa Rica) it also offers the most flexibility. More often, than not, great fishing is found 15-25 miles directly out in front of Herradura Bay. However, if the fish are further south towards Quepos or further north towards Guanamar, the boats are within range to make the run to the fishing grounds.
